I tried to upload a video of the sound this beautiful piece of history makes. Apparently you have to do it on a computer. I’ll upload as soon as I can, I prefer using my phone. I’ve cherished this beauty in my possession for about 30 years now. Many years ago my husband who was a welder cleaned the plates. They are now aging to the piece again. The label shows last made in USA in 1917. Chicago. The wood casing is in beautiful condition besides a couple wear spots as shown in pics. Its condition is amazing for being over 100 years old. I was shocked to find that at one time it was a railroad car dinner chime. Imagine chiming it for dinner today, what a magical sound it would make for gathering family. The pounder… not sure what it’s called does have some missing wood on one side but still remains strong for use.
