‘Saturday Night Live’ spoofs Jasmine Crockett in Charli XCX skit

Saturday Night Live’s 50th-season debut this weekend included a sketch parodying Dallas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett.
The sketch was a cultural crossover of sorts — a fictitious talk show where singer Charli XCX (Bowen Yang) interviews Crockett (Ego Nwodim).
Yang donned a jet-black wig and spoke in a pseudo-British accent (pronouncing Texas as Tex-ahss) in his impression of a host introducing Crockett.
As Nwodim’s Crockett took a seat, she asked if she was the most “brat” congresswoman — a reference to Charli XCX’s latest album Brat, which has become a shorthand for unapologetic expression and hedonistic fun. The “brat” titleholder was a tie between Crockett and U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert, Yang replied.

“I have a song on my album called ‘Mean Girls’ and you went viral this summer for what you called Marjorie Taylor Greene,” he added.
Nwodim then delivered the viral insult — “bleach-blonde, bad-built, butch body” — that Crockett said during a verbal spat with Greene at a House Oversight Committee hearing in May. That comment came after Greene told Crockett, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”
Crockett’s profile skyrocketed following the exchange, and she has since become a national co-chair for the Harris-Walz presidential campaign.
She learned of the SNL parody as she was coming off a flight.
“I had a full day in district with my good friend Governor @iamwesmoore, but had to catch a flight to Milwaukee,” Crockett wrote on X early Sunday morning.
“When I landed, my phone was being blown up about @nbcsnl! @eggy_boom was playing yours truly!! Hopefully one of these times that I’m in the city, our paths will cross so that I can thank you in person!” she added.
